Our Services And Costings

We have been providing Families with a complete funeral service since 1909, we continue to offer the traditional services which our family has offered over the last 100 years, run and operated by the 3rd and 4th generation of our family. We will ensure that your loved one will get the send-off they deserve. 

Unlike many other funeral directors, we believe that by being transparent with our pricing structure it allows our clients to fully understand how they may tailor to their own budget.

Whist there are many different options available which we would be pleased to discuss with you, we feel it is helpful to provide four packages, Direct Cremation, Simple Funeral, Traditional Funeral and a Burial Option, which provide plenty of choice for you to get started on your arrangements.

On initial contact regarding a death in your family we will ask for preliminary details and will advise the conveyance procedure of the decreased to our private chapels of rest. From there we will arrange a time and place to suit you and your family for the funeral director to call and arrange the funeral.

At all of our offices we also have private chapels of rest and family members and friends are welcome to visit at any time they desire to see a loved one.

Our Inclusive Full Funeral Costings

Including -
❖  Our professional fees, including all administration, legal paperwork & 6 free sessions of Bereavement support via SAIF care.
❖  Transfer of your loved one from the place of death, within a 20 mile radius of our funeral home.
❖  Care and Preparation of your loved one.
❖  Use of our chapel of rest if required, within office open hours.
❖  ‘The Wenlock’ Coffin with fully fitted interior suit, suitable for Burial or Cremation.
❖  Provision of a Motor Hearse & Staff Bearers (if required)
❖  One Limousine leaving from a requested address – seating up to 7 people.
❖  Floral Tribute - 3ft Coffin Spray, suitable for placement on top of the coffin or casket.
 ❖  30x Order of Service Booklets from our Brochure only (£20.00 additional fee for Bespoke)
❖  Provision of a Donation Box if required

Additional Limousine (including driver & seating up to 7 mourners) - £210.00

Simple Funeral Package

Direct Cremation Package

No service or attendance at Cremation by family or mourners

o     Arranging the funeral within our offices or private address.

o     Transfer of deceased from place of death to our care.

o     Completing all statutory paperwork

o     24 Hour support and advice.

o     Attendance of Funeral Conductor on day of funeral with staff.

o     Our Economy Coffin, or an alternative can be chosen at an additional cost from our Click Here To Download Our Coffin Selection Brochure.

o     Provision of a hearse to leave from address of choice.

Our Total Fees: £1355.00

(Disbursements/3rd Party Fees NOT Included)

o     Arranging the funeral within our offices or over telephone.

o     Transfer of deceased from place of death to our care.

o     Completing all statutory paperwork

o     24 Hour support and advice.

o     Attendance of Funeral Conductor on day of funeral with staff.

o     Our Simplistic Coffin.

o     Provision of a suitable vehicle to transfer coffin to crematorium.

o     Cremation at Rowley Regis Crematorium on a date of our choice.

o     Cremation Forms 4 + 5.

In addition to the Funeral Directors Fees, there are the charges for services and products provided by third parties such as -

-  Crematorium & Cemetery Fees (Table of each fee for each local Cemetery & Crematorium are below)

-  Doctors Fee for Cremation Certificate (£164.00) (fee only applies if the funeral is a Cremation, this fee doesn't apply if the funeral is a Burial)

-  Ministers Fee (£190.00)  (average fee but may vary depending on the minister itself) 

-  Horse Drawn Hearse (£1100.00) 

-  Church Fees (Depending on Religious Denomination, this varies)

Floral Tributes (if you wish to arrange them through ourselves)

Our Services & Costings

We are happy to discuss costings for a funeral, whether it be over the phone, in one of our offices or at a private address.

We tailor our funerals to suit what the client and family needs. Although we do offer one simple funeral package, which is low cost and to help the needs of a family who wish to have the simplest of funerals. Up on contact with ourselves and once we have a picture of what the funeral wishes are, we will be able to issue a written and verbal estimate of costs in full.

We do ask for a prepayment to be paid prior to the funeral, this being all 3rd Party Fees (Disbursements) 

(We may ask for a higher deposit if high cost additional services are requested. For Example - Horse Drawn Hearse)

These figures would need to be paid 3 days prior to the funeral taking place, if they are not paid the funeral may be temporarily postponed.

We are very accommodating, and understand being able to organise such a deposit in a short time scale could cause difficulty. If you are waiting for insurance policies, bank payments or other sources, we would allow the payment to be made after the funeral upon receipt of such polices or as such in official writing from the payee. We also do accepted families which are making DWP claims, and we are one of the very few funeral directors who accept payment plans.

Once the funeral has taken place we will send a detailed, final funeral invoice to the client. This would be payable within a month of receipt.

Payments can be via the following -

  • Cash
  • Credit or Debit Card
  • BACS - Online Bank Transfer
  • Monthly Payments*

*Monthly Payment Plan – we do offer a payment plan direct to us. This would require the deposit to be paid, and a 12 monthly payment plan can then be set up.

DWP Funeral Payment from The Social Fund – the DWP do grant funeral payments towards the funeral costs. This will depend on the applicant’s circumstances and income. Please visit this link https://www.gov.uk/funeral-payments/overview to complete and review the application process.
